My research interests are broadly focused on increasing understanding of the etiology and treatment of mood disorders from a cognitive perspective. Specifically, I am interested in the role cognitive factors such as hopelessness and cognitive vulnerability play in the development and maintenance of depression, as well as the process by which cognitive therapy for depression achieves its effects. Currently, I am examining the relationship between depression and unemployment and investigating possible mechanisms by which one may lead to or perpetuate the other.
